The Bright Heart Kit

The Big Heart is an LED display in the shape of a heart, and will show the outline of a heart when used in the dark. This kit can be powered with an external PP3 battery, but for those who want to control the LEDs, an external relay or transistor can be used. This is especially useful for those who want to create interactive BPM displays in DIY ECG machines.

Applications

One excellent use for The Bright Heart is as an active display in heart rate monitors. The intensity of the LEDs can be matched to the intensity of heart beats which would not only show the beats per minute (BPM), but the strength of each beat. This kit can also be used as a valentines project, with one potential use being IoT-connected hearts. Two devices, separated across the world, can both connect to the same server, and when both parties press the same button at the same time, each heart glows to indicate the presence of the other. Overall, this kit is an excellent add-on to other circuits, and the unique design and colour make it suitable for many different projects.
