555 Astable SMD Trainer Kit

This kit is part of the SMD Trainer range that only uses SMD parts to test out your soldering skills. This kit provides all the parts needed to create the famous 555 Astable circuit that blinks an LED, and the rate of blinking is controlled via the SMD potentiometer. Before making this kit, be sure to read our SMD soldering guide found in our resources page, and pay extra attention when positioning components because de-soldering SMD parts can be extremely challenging.

Applications

The 555 Astable SMD Trainer is ideal for SMD solder practice, and works well with the SMD Soldering Guide found in our resources page. This kit is also ideal for those who want to get into electronics, and the small size of this kit also makes it ideal for applications that need a small, modularised board. For example, this kit can be used on small drones to produce a regular pulse of light, or can be used on poles to indicate boundaries in the dark.
