VU Meter
Volume meters are a very useful tool for knowing how loud a signal is without actually having to hear it. They are also useful as they can provide a visual cue if the volume is close to the max possible value and therefore warn the viewer that the volume may “clip”. Volume meters are found on many audio devices ranging from mixers to sound systems and in this kit we will build a volume meter. This kit provides all components needed to build either the logarithmic (audio) or linear version of the volume meter.

Applications
The volume meter kit allows for the creation of both a logarithmic and linear scale making it highly ideal for a wide range of applications. The most common use of a volume meter is to show the signal strength of an audio signal and can show if the signal is close to clipping (i. e. signal saturation). However, the volume meter can also be used in generic signal circuitry such as control voltages, current monitors, ambient light levels, and temperature. The volume meter kit is also highly ideal for educational uses with the kit being build-able in under an hour by most students.
Notes
Note that product specifics such as output frequency depend on the tolerance of the components. The numbers provided here are an approximation only. Also take note that the estimated delivery is not guaranteed (unless special delivery is chosen) and free delivery has a maximum waiting time of two weeks. Any product that is returned which is built using lead solder is ineligible for a refund.
